Call to worship “Psalms Now” by Leslie Brandt - #138
All: I am exceedingly grateful O Lord. You have heard my cries and you have responded with mercy and strength. I know you will fulfill your purpose for my life. Your love and mercy is everlasting, and you will not let me go. My life is overflowing with thanksgiving and my mouth is filled with your praises.
Opening prayer
Memory verse
All: Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! 1 Chronicles 16:11
Prayer of confession and reconciliation
All: O God, forgive us for considering that violence could help us reach our objectives. Forgive us and deliver us from the idea that anything of value can be obtained by hostile actions. Strengthen each of us to overcome hate with love and to be peacemakers in a world that is so quick to choose violence as the answer.
Now for a brief time of silence for private time with God.
Pastor: Brothers and sisters, we are called to believe and share this good news.
All: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven.
The reading of God’s word John 1:43-51
Pastor: The word of God for the people of God.
Congregation: Thanks be to God.

A statement of our faith
All: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. (John 3:16-17)

Benediction
All: Wherever we are, God has put us there. God has a purpose in us being there. Christ who lives in us, has something he wants to do through us, where we are. We believe this and we go in grace, love and power.
